Here's a little explanation of what's up right now with the build. Most of this week, the crew has been working on framing in the basement. They still haven't put the stairs in, so I haven't climbed through the window well with the camera.
Yesterday, they started building some of the hips for the roof, and today they put the roof trusses on and started on the roof decking. They are planning on working through the weekend, so they should be able to finish the roof decking and finish putting the OSB on the garage walls. They are thinking that they will be ready to put in the windows and outside doors by Tuesday.
The last picture that I posted today is a look through the front door straight out the back through the living room. The big hole in the back wall is where the fireplace goes, even though it looks right now that it is going to be a door. The living room has a vault to it, so you can see from the third picture that the trusses are turned a different direction.
It's exciting to see how it is coming together. It is getting harder to have patience, but I know that it won't be ready to move into any time soon. :) Now I just have to start thinking about going through our current house and getting things ready to put it on the market. Anyone want to come do that for me??? :)
It finally looks like a house!!!! How fun. I don't envy you having to go through all your stuff and get the house ready for the market. Not fun!!! I dread that day when we have to do it. We have accumulated a lot of stuff in the five and a half years we have been here!!
